gosbu.co Short URLs (Bitly)

gosbu.co is Stony Brook University’s branded URL shortener, powered by Bitly. It allows you to create clean, memorable links that are easier to share in emails, social media, print materials, and presentations while maintaining a consistent university-branded experience.

Best for: Marketing campaigns, social media posts, printed materials, event promotions, and any situation where a short, easy-to-type or easy-to-remember link improves usability.

Custom shortcodes (for example, gosbu.co/bio-apply-2026 or gosbu.co/bio-26-openhouse) are case-sensitive and available by request. To ensure consistency and avoid duplication, all custom links must be submitted through the request form. Once approved, the Digital & Social Media Services team will create and manage the shortcode.
