Department News Feeds

Overview

Department News Feeds allow departments to publish news stories, blog posts, announcements, and updates directly within their website.

Once configured by the Web Services team, editors can create individual news articles using a dedicated news template. Published stories automatically appear on the department's news listing page and can also be displayed throughout the site using news feed components.

Requesting a Department News Feed

Department News Feeds must be configured by the Web Services team before they can be used.

To request a Department News Feed, complete the request form below:

Department News Feed Request Form

After approval, our team will:

  • Create a news folder within your site
  • Configure the Department News Article template
  • Create a news listing page
  • Connect the feed to your department website
  • Provide access to approved editors

No additional feed management is required.

For general information about creating and editing pages in Modern Campus CMS, see the Create New Page documentation. The same editing and publishing workflow applies to news articles.

News Categories

Categories help organize content and allow visitors to filter news articles on the listing page.

Examples may include:

  • Research
  • Faculty
  • Students
  • Awards & Honors
  • Events
  • Publications
  • Alumni

Select all categories that apply to your article.

Your department's news listing page is automatically generated during setup.

As articles are published, they are automatically added to the listing page and displayed in reverse chronological order.

Depending on your site's configuration, visitors may be able to:

  • Search news articles
  • Filter by category
  • Filter by year
