The College of Business at Stony Brook University has been in existence since 2004, and in that time our faculty’s research has made significant theoretical and practical impacts in every business discipline.  Academic research in the College of Business is rigorous and relevant to both the business and academic communities.  That is, we conduct academic research that is grounded in solid theory and that addresses practical problems that management faces.

Whether it is a focus on how one’s construal of the time horizon impacts investment decisions or how childhood advertising exposure to brand characters can impact product choice into adulthood, our research provides practical solutions for business problems, which is especially important in times of economic uncertainty.

The College of Business is proud to announce that our research faculty has grown significantly over the past five years, including two with joint appointments in the Department of Economics and one with a joint appointment in the Department of Political Science.
