    Australian National University is located in the heart of Australia's national capital Canberra. ANU greatly encourages a research-led education through a holistic approach to learning and is also ranked 45 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. As well as this, ANU offers a broad selection of courses in various majors. 

    Internship  opportunities are available! Students interested in being considered should inform the SBU Exchange Advisor for instructions regarding the exchange and internship application processes.     *The fall semester starts mid-July and ends in December. The spring semester starts in early February and ends in July.
    Additional Information A Partner University program is a study abroad experience where students are nominated/accepted by Stony Brook University, and enroll at a partner institution. In most cases SBU faculty or staff are NOT traveling with participants.

    Course of Study

    *Students must maintain full-time status while abroad

    The program will have a broad selection of courses. Students will also have the opportunity to interact and make friends with their peers from around the globe.

    This is a partner university program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their International Programs Coordinator.

    Program Housing Statement: Stony Brook University is required to comply with the housing policies of the host country, partner institution and/or hotel/hostel. These policies may include requirements such as sex-based housing placement.

    Additional Information

    Grades earned in a Partner University program   WILL NOT  calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.

    Students must be matriculated in an undergraduate degree program.

    Transfer Students: Two semesters completed at SBU with grades posted is required

    Sophomores and above
    Application Deadline Fall/academic year admission: February 1 

    Spring admission: September 15 (Deadline extended to October 5)
    Candidates may be interviewed to determine their qualifications for participating and representing Stony Brook University abroad.

    $ 3,435 per semester for NY residents

    $12,270 per semester for non-residents

    Program Fee $750 per semester
    Administrative Fee

    $200 (non-refundable)

    International Health Insurance $55 per month approximately. Note: The host university may also require a domestic health plan, and will send details regarding costs to students directly.
    Other Fees $4,500-$8,000 (approximately; Students pay room, board, books, transportation and other university fees directly to overseas university)
    Travel Costs $2,300-$3,200 (approximately; Students are responsible for their travel arrangements including airfare, visa costs)
    Costs are estimates for planning purposes of the student and are subject to change.
