- Welcome to Stony Brook
Whether you are a newly enrolled or a returning student, we encourage you to get involved, give your best, and have realistic expectations of yourself. Transitioning into a new routine or environment always presents challenges that can be both exciting and difficult, so we urge you to tap into available resources.
- If you are graduating this semester and have international family members who would like to attend your commencement, Visa and Immigration Services can provide you with a support letter which can be used to obtain a B-2 visa.
Please complete this form as many times as needed (one for each person you would like to invite). You will receive an email from our office containing the invitation letter(s) when verification is received that you have applied for graduation.
- Graduating students may request a Commencement Letter from Visa and Immigration Services inviting their relative(s) to the United States to attend the graduation ceremony. Once you have applied for graduation, F-1 and J-1 students can submit the Commencement Letter Request in accessVIS.
