Student Emergency Support Fund

 

The Student Emergency Support Fund provides resources to matriculated Stony Brook undergraduate and graduate students who are experiencing unexpected financial crisis.

The Student Emergency Support Fund is in place for students who have exhausted all other traditional institutional, federal and state resources within their total cost of attendance (ie: all available Financial Aid, including loans).

Connect with the Student Emergency Support Fund in 3 easy steps:

Step 1) Complete the Student Emergency Support Fund Questionnaire below.
Step 2) Tell your story to the best of your ability.
Step 3) A member of the Student Support Team will call you within 3-5 business days to discuss available resources.

 Our Mission

Students may experience a variety of challenges during their college career. The Office of the Dean of Students’ Student Support Team coordinates efforts to assist students who encounter challenges or concerns in achieving success at Stony Brook University.

Please reach out if you or someone you know has been impacted by any of the following:

  • Hospitalization
  • Medical emergencies 
  • Chronic conditions
  • Mental health concerns
  • Death of a loved one
  • Unexpected financial difficulty

Our purpose is to empower students to overcome obstacles to their growth both inside and outside the classroom.  We welcome any opportunity to provide consultation, answer questions, respond to concerns, or direct you to the resource best equipped to meet your needs.
