Internship Program Admissions

Briefly describe in narrative form important information to assist potential applicants in assessing their likely fit with your program. This description must be consistent with the program’s policies on intern selection and practicum and academic preparation requirements:

Our program prepares trainees for functioning as health service psychologists with specific skills in the treatment of college students in a multicultural setting. Interns receive experience in providing initial consultations, individual therapy, group therapy, crisis management, opportunities for consultation and collaboration with a multidisciplinary staff, and supervision of a practicum student; interns as well have the opportunity for elective experiences.

Describe any other required minimum criteria used to screen applicants:

1. Matriculated in an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical or counseling psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) (we will consider on a case-by-case basis circumstances in which a student is enrolled in a doctoral program that is in process of seeking accreditation);

2. We accept a combination of intervention/assessment hours to meet total direct contact hours but do not require specific assessment hours. 

3. Comprehensive exams passed by application deadline.

 4. Clearance for readiness by DCT.

5. An ability to pass a criminal background check prior to start date.
