Ceremony Details

• The ceremony begins at 12:00 pm sharp, so you should arrive by 11:00 am for candidate check-in and line-up in the Pritchard Gym (go in the main doors of the Arena and we will direct you to candidate check-in/line-up).
• Arrive dressed in your cap, gown & hood. Wear sensible shoes - there are stairs that you will be going up and down. If you have not gotten your regalia yet, please visit Shop Red West (campus bookstore, relocated to the hallway by FedEx in the basement of the library) or email them at shopredwest@stonybrook.edu.
• We do not recommend waiting until the day of the ceremony!
• The Arena doors will open at 11:00 am for your guests.
• Guests DO NOT need tickets for this event.
• Please use the main entrance doors on John S. Toll Drive,not the side entrance doors.
• Please park in the Indoor Sports Complex Parking Lot (Lot 7) accessed via Gym Road.
• Elevators and accessible seating are available.
• Guests are not allowed on the arena floor, either before or after the ceremony.
• The following will not be allowed in the Arena seating area: strollers, luggage, and balloons.
• There is an area that people will be directed to, to leave their strollers, however it will not be supervised.
• At this ceremony, you will have your name called as you cross the stage.
• When you arrive you will be given your reader card.
• Please be sure to indicate the pronunciation of your name if it is not already printed on the card.
• As you cross the stage you will have your photo taken.
• You will be given the opportunity to purchase photos a week or so after the ceremony.
• The ceremony will last about 90 minutes.
• The ceremony will be live-streamed at stonybrook.edu/live.
