Stony Brook University recognizes Women’s History Month with its annual celebration
that highlights the achievements of women, raises awareness against bias, and promotes
social action for equality.
While studying in Nigeria as an undergraduate, Shobana Shankar heard the local people tell tales about the British that echoed the stories her parents
and grandparents told her while growing up in India.
The purpose of this conference is to increase self awareness and diversity awareness,
and share perspectives and approaches to inclusive leadership for campus community
building and beyond.
President Joseph R. Biden signed a bill to recognize Juneteenth, the celebration to
commemorate the end of chattel slavery in the United States, as a federal holiday
