Welcome to the Accessibility Website!

The Office of Equity and Access (OEA) is charged with ensuring that Stony Brook University provides a campus environment that is safe, welcoming, accessible, and free from all forms of discrimination. An essential part of fulfilling this mission is serving as the primary resource on disability-services, procedures, and related information for University employees. Accessibility and reasonable accommodation practices and procedures have been developed and implemented to ensure that qualified disabled employees can receive equal access to employment opportunities and best serve the campus community. Any employee with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits her/his ability to perform the essential functions of her/his job position may request a reasonable accommodation. Stony Brook University’s standards and procedures for processing requests for accommodation comply with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
