International Advising
International Advising at Stony Brook University serves as a welcoming hub for students from around the world, guiding them through the academic, cultural, and logistical aspects of studying in the United States. It’s a space designed to help international students feel grounded and supported, whether they’re navigating visa requirements, adjusting to campus life, or exploring opportunities for personal and academic growth. This is done by offering expert advising across all four years of undergraduate study, along with engaging programs and a strong sense of community. We maintain strong partnerships with units within the Office of Global Affairs, such as International Student Success, Visa and Immigration Services and Study Abroad; Stony Brook’s international support network empowers students to thrive in a new environment and make the most of their university experience.
