Eligible West Campus & HSC United University Professions (UUP) and Eligible Management Confidential (M/C 13) Employees

We are pleased to announce the availability of the Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) for United University Professions (UUP), and Management Confidential (M/C 13) employees. This program allows eligible UUP and M/C 13 employees to exchange previously accrued annual (vacation) leave in return for a credit to be applied toward their biweekly employee's share of the NYSHIP premium.

Eligibility

Employees must meet the following

  • Be a SUNY UUP or Management Confidential (M/C 13) employee
  • Paid on a Calendar Year (Annual) or College Year basis
  • Full-time employees must earn an annual salary not greater than $59,742
  • Part-time employees must earn a biweekly salary not greater than $1,166
  • Minimum balance of 8.00 annual days for full-time employees at time of enrollment (prorated for part-time employees)
  • Must be currently enrolled in NYSHIP and be eligible for employer share contributions (or be on LWOP from a position in which they are normally eligible for employer share contribution toward NYSHIP premiums). If employee & spouse both work for the State – if enrolled as individuals, both may exchange and receive PEP credit. If enrolled as family, only the one employee will receive credit.
Full-time Employees
Full-time Employees will forfeit a total of 3 days of annual leave at time of enrollment in return for a credit of up to $500.
Part-time Employees
Part-time Employees will forfeit annual leave on a pro-rated basis in accordance with their employment percentage (ex. Fte .40-1.2 days/Fte .60-1.80 days) in return for a credit pro-rated in accordance with their employment percentage (ex. Fte .40-$200/Fte .60-$300).

The credit will apply only to the employee share of the NYSHIP premium. If the credit amount exceeds the employee share of the premium, the employee will not pay a premium, but any excess credit will be forfeited.

Employees must re-enroll during the appropriate election periods, if they wish to participate during subsequent years. The first paycheck that will be impacted by the PEP credit for 2009 will be December 24, 2008.

The first paycheck that will be impacted by the PEP credit for 2010 will be December 23, 2009. Eligible employees may choose to participate in the Productivity Enhancement Program by completing the enclosed enrollment form during the enrollment period of October 26, 2009 through November 27, 2009, and submitting it to Louann Hondropulos by Monday, November 30, 2009 to:
