STATE EMPLOYEES
CSEA,PEF & M/C Employees
FULL-TIME
→Full-Time employees who are eligible to observe holidays and work on Election Day and/or Lincoln's Birthday will be credited with a floating holiday.
→Full-Time employees, for whom Election Day and/or Lincoln's Birthday are pass days, will be credited with a floating holiday.
PART-TIME
→Eligible Part-Time employees will be credited with a floating holiday if they are regularly scheduled to work, or are directed to work on Election Day and/or Lincoln's Birthday.
→Part-Time CSEA & PEF employees, who are eligible to observe holidays, are entitled to observe only those holidays that fall on days when they are regularly scheduled to work or required to work.
UUP Employees
The day after Thanksgiving is observed as a holiday.
***Lincoln's Birthday is not an observed holiday.
PBANYS & NYSCOPBA Employees
Security Services and Security Supervisors observe all holidays as listed (no floating holidays).
Graduate Student Employee Union (GSEU)
Observe holidays listed when classes are not in session.
RF EMPLOYEES
Research Foundation
FULL-TIME
→Full-Time employees will earn holiday leave for all observed holidays that are worked.
→The maximum holiday leave earned will be 7.5 hours for a 37.5 hour workweek or 8 hours for a 40-hour workweek.
PART-TIME
→Part-Time employees who work 50% effort or more are entitled to observe only those holidays that fall on days when they are regularly scheduled to work.
→When a holiday falls on a scheduled work day the part time employee earns whatever hours they normally work for that particular day, not to exceed 7.50 or 8.00 hours.
→When a holiday falls on a Saturday the part time employee earns the value of double their sick accrual rate. (Example: normally earns 2.00 hours sick time will earn 4.00 hours in holiday time.)
→Part time employees who observe a holiday will receive pay for their scheduled hours.
→All part time employees MUST have a work schedule on file with RF Payroll (rf_payroll@stonybrook.edu).
All RF Employees:
→Supervisory approval is required before holiday time can be taken.
→The Research Foundation encourages employees to use time off within a reasonable period.
→ At separation, all unused holiday time will be forfeited.
