Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) for CSEA

The Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) allows eligible CSEA and PEF represented employees to exchange previously accrued annual (vacation) and/or personal leave for a credit to be applied toward their employee share of NYSHIP Health Insurance premiums on a bi-weekly basis.

During the calendar year 2013;

Full-time employees in Salary Grades 1-17 who enroll in this program will forfeit a total of 3 days (22.5 hours for a 37.5 hour workweek, 24 hours for a 40 hour workweek) or 6 days (45 hours for a 37.5 hour workweek, 48 hours for a 40 hour workweek) of annual and/or personal leave for a credit of $500 ($19.23 bi-weekly) or $1000 ($38.46 bi-weekly).

Full-time employees in Salary Grades 18-24 who enroll in this program will forfeit a total of 2.25 days (17 hours for a 37.5 hour workweek, 18 hours for a 40 hour workweek) or 4.5 days (33.75 hours for a 37.5 hour workweek, 36 hours for a 40 hour workweek) of annual and /or personal leave for a credit of $500 ($19.23 bi-weekly) or $1000 ($38.46 bi-weekly).

This credit will be applied towards the bi-weekly health insurance premium and will be reflected in the paychecks issued from January 2, 2013 through December 18, 2013. Eligible part-time employees may elect to participate on a pro-rated basis in accordance with their employment percentage.

To be eligible to enroll you must:

  • Be an employee covered by the 2011-2016 New York State CSEA or PEF collective bargaining agreements in a title Salary Grade 24 or below or equated to a position at or below Salary Grade 24;
  • Have a minimum combined balance of annual and personal leave of at least 8 days after making the forfeiture; and
  • Be a NYSHIP enrollee (contract holder) in either the Empire Plan or an HMO at the time of enrollment.

The enrollment period for the 2013 PEP program is October 22, 2012 through November 30, 2012. Eligible employees may elect to participate in the Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) by completing the enrollment form found at http://www.stonybrook.edu/hr (click on the PEP stamp located on our home page) and submitting it by Friday, November 30, 2012:
