Voluntary Separation Program Phase III - Staff
SUNY is facing significant budget challenges. At Stony Brook University we are looking at ways to meet those challenges while we provide opportunities to our staff. Thus, we are pleased to offer the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP Phase lII) to Stony Brook University full-time, M/C, UUP, CSEA, Council 82, PEF and NYSCOPBA employees, as well as full-time employees of the Stony Brook Foundation and Research Foundation's administrative employees (excluding LISVH & UH). We are unable to extend this opportunity to Research Foundation employees who are compensated from the direct costs of an externally sponsored project. We anticipate that this will be the final program in the Stony Brook VSP series.
In VSP Phase III, staff who have 25 or more years of service at Stony Brook University at the date of separation and who were on the payroll full time as of March 1, 2011, are eligible for a lump-sum payout of 50 percent (50%) of their base salary.
Individuals who wish to take advantage of this opportunity must submit the attached packet, including their irrevocable letter of retirement or resignation, no later than August 30, 2011 to Human Resource Services. Employees who submit the attached packet will retire or resign from Stony Brook University no later than December 31, 2011.
