B-140W Tuition Assistance Program
The program is available to all Full-time State employees attending a SUNY or Empire State College. A percentage of the tuition for three (3) credits may be waived each Spring and Fall semesters, based on career-relatedness and availability of funds. View the B-140W form and instructions.
UUP Tuition Waiver Space Available Program
This program is available to UUP members attending a SUNY or Empire State College. The program is dependent upon space being available. Employees may request a waiver for one course during the Spring semester, Winter session, Fall semester, and each Summer session. This waiver may be used in combination with the B-140W state program, however, they may not be used for the same course. Deadlines for submission are the add/drop periods of each semester. Management Confidential (M/C) Employees
- Tuition Reimbursement
- This program is available to M/C employees who have completed six (6) full months of continuous service before the course begins and are State employees when the course ends. Employees are entitled to reimbursement of 75% up to $2,000 per fiscal year with no limit on the number of courses. Courses must be job/career related. This program may be used in combination with the B-140W waiver.
- M/C Online Course
- Free online courses for M/C employees. Course topics include broad range of professional and personal development. May offer Continuing Education Units (CEU's).
- M/C Certification and Licensure Exam Fee Reimbursement
- Limited time availability through March 31, 2010. Up to $600 reimbursement for qualified certifications and licenses.

Council 82 / NYSCOPBA Tuition Reimbursement
April 1 through March 31 state fiscal year, allows up to $1,200 tuition reimbursement for qualified applicants when funding is available. Refunds are processed yearly and distributed by the state.
