LGBTQ* Services is a team of students and professional staff dedicated to creating and maintaining an affirming and inclusive campus environment for LGBTQ* students. We aim to achieve this through a variety of programming, policy and resource development, and individual consultation. LGBTQ* Services Programming Internship
12 hours per week, 3 Academic Credits per semester, 2 semester commitment
Description: The LGBTQ* Services Programming Interns are a group of students who work closely with both professional staff and who are dedicated to creating and maintaining an affirming and inclusive campus environment for LGBTQ* students. The LGBTQ* Programming Interns aim to achieve this through educational, social and advocacy based opportunities including the development of resources, programs, events and outreach initiatives.
The LGBTQ* Services Programming Internship is based around:
- - Planning small and large scale programming to serve the Stony Brook LGBTQ* community.
- - Identifying and understanding student safety, health and wellness needs.
- - Develop initiatives that support learning and engagement in and beyond the classroom.
- - Supporting and creating environments that help to educate those in the campus community about LGBTQ* topics.
