"My name is Rebecca (she/her/hers) and I am from Brooklyn, NY. I am a Graduate Coordinator for LGBTQ* Services as well as a Social Work Intern. I graduated from Stony Brook in 2016 with a BA in Sociology and I am now in my second year of grad school going for a Master's in Social Work. In my free time, I enjoy petting every dog I ever see and watching cooking videos on Facebook."

May [any pronouns] is a Graduate Coordinator for LGBTQ* Services. They are pursuing a Masters of Public Health and is an alum of SBU's Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Department. May is interested in applying a queer theoretical approach to healthcare in the future and to her everyday life. One of their favorite food combinations is crispy spam and avocado.
BS, Psychology; Stony Brook University Current Program: MS, Occupational Therapy
Derrick (he/him/his) is a graduate student studying Occupational Therapy. He went to Stony Brook for his undergraduate as well and has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. He is in his fourth year of being a Resident Assistant (RA) and is quite well versed on things and resources on campus. For fun Derrick likes to explore and go on adventures. He loves to smell flowers and enjoys leaves, will eat almost anything, and usually has music playing in his head.

My name is Yasmin Fouchong-Brown. I am a senior Health Science major and Women's and Gender Studies minor. I am secretary of House of SHADE, an organization made by and for black LGBTQ* folx. (P.S. I'm also a lover of romantic comedies, dumb memes, and the color pink.)
Katherine FUNDERBUrKShe/Her/Hers or They/Them/Theirs Major : Mathematics
Katherine is a second year mathematics major. She is very excited to be a returning member of the LGBTQ* Center Staff. She also loves to sing, and is a proud member of the Stony Brook Pipettes A-Capella group on campus.

Evelin Mercedes is currently a fifth year Journalism and Spanish Language & Literature student at Stony Brook University. Throughout the semester you can find her filming/photographing events for her journalism courses or eating food from the SAC’s StirFry station.

Hi! My name is Jordan (or Jo) and I use she/her/hers pronouns. I'm a senior at Stony Brook University majoring in Women and Gender Studies, minoring in Health, Medicine, and Society. A fun fact about me is that I love talking about alternative aesthetics, especially body modifications (I have 10 piercings and counting!!). If you ever see me in the center don't be afraid to stop and chat, I swear I'm friendlier than I look.

Nicolas Pennisi (he/him, they/them) is a Junior Journalism major. When he's not hanging out in the center, you can find him on Resident Assistant duty, working in The Statesman office as Assistant Multimedia Editor, or singing with the Stony Brook Vocalists. Nico's favorite party trick is throwing his legs behind his head. If you spot him around, he'll be more than happy to show you.
MALIHA RISHATShe/Her/Hers Major: Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Major: Information Systems
I am a senior majoring in Women's and Gender Studies, and Information Systems. I love traveling, though I rarely get to do so. Searching for good food is also a great passion of mine. If you see me at the center and you would like to hang out, I am always happy to play one of the center's many card and/or board games with you all! We can also talk books, movies, TV shows, or anything you can think of!

TREY SHIMIZUHe/Him/His Major: Biology Minor: Studio Art
I was born and raised in Southern California and I’m a Biology major, Studio Art minor, and on the Pre-Veterinary track. In my free time, I enjoy doing ceramics, 3D modeling, and going to concerts, especially to see the acapella group, Pentatonix.
Alyssa Thomas is a senior majoring in English and Sociology. Her favorite SBU tradition would be Midnight Scream, when the entire student body lets out their stress and frustration the night before finals week by screaming together (not at each other). Alyssa is an active member of the campus community, including serving as president of the Residence Hall Association.

My name is Brooke and the pronouns I use are she/her/hers, and my major is psychology with a minor in environmental humanities! My favorite thing in the world is skydiving, and I have two cats and a bearded dragon.

Will is currently a senior at Stony Brook pursuing 2 degrees and a minor. He has worked with LGBTQ* Services for two years; first as a Programming Intern and now as an Undergraduate Assistant. After he graduates with his Bachelors he hopes to move off Long Island and become a graphic designer. Work and school aside, he loves watching movies, playing video games (Katamari Damacy and Animal Crossing are his favorites), and going to diners with friends!
PAUL ALBERTIHe/Him/His Major:Spannish Languages and Literature Minor: French Minor Business
Paul Alberti (he, him, his) is a rising academic senior pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts in Spanish language and literature with two minors in French language and Business. Paul is very involved on campus as in addition to being an LGBTQ* Services Programing Intern he is a Resident Hall Assistant in Chávez Hall, the President of Stony Brook University’s chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, and a member of College Democrats. He became involved with LGBTQ* Services shortly after the center had opened during the Spring 2018 semester and enjoys assisting undeserved and underrepresented communities. After graduation in May 2019, Paul intends to pursue a Master’s of Arts in Romance languages, and later attend law school to become an Immigration Lawyer.
