PAID TIME OFF: PARENTAL (PARENTAL PTO)


 

 

RF Employees

Parental PTO provides income replacement during an approved Child Care leave. Eligible employees may accrue up to a maximum of 12 weeks of Parental PTO which may be used for bonding following the birth of a child or placement for adoption or foster care. Parental PTO may only be used during the first six months after a qualifying event, which is also the period of approved Child Care Leave.

Salaried employees appointed at a minimum of .5 full time equivalent (FTE) are eligible to accrue and use Parental PTO unless they are:

  • Within the first six months of their date of hire. (Eligible employees will be credited with Parental PTO accruals, based on their FTE, from their date of hire, upon completion of six months service.)

  • Appointed for the summer only.

  • Assigned to a student title(s): Research Project Assistant, Project Instructional Assistant, Research Aide, Senior Research Aide, or Camp Counselor – Student.
