Social Implications of the Digital Revolution/DI Hybrid

It's more important than ever to promote scholarship, teaching and learning using digital technologies. Our students should be able to graduate with competencies and an understanding of digital technology, beneficial for both traditional and ever-evolving careers. 

To that end, the forthcoming Digital Intelligence training program is a new Arts and Technology program that combines computer science with a discipline in the arts, humanities or social sciences, providing students with a competitive edge for the jobs of tomorrow. The program launches in Fall 2019 with the introduction of IAE 101: Introduction to Digital Intelligence. 

In addition, we must support our faculty and staff in sharing their expertise and further developing their competencies. Historically, our University is known for its strengths in technology, the sciences, arts and humanities, offering junior faculty the resources they need to develop new methods, new tools for teaching and research, and supporting team teaching. 

The collaborative creation of a summer institute would help Stony Brook faculty and staff to share their expertise and further develop digital competencies, efficiently and locally.
