Xiumei Jian Receives 2025 ACS Graduate Student Award

We are thrilled to announce that Xiumei Jian, a PhD candidate in Dr. Xinwei Mao’s laboratory, has been selected as a 2025 Graduate Student Awardee in Environmental Chemistry by the American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Environmental Chemistry.

B.R.I.D.G.E.S. Graduate Research Conference 2026

February 19, 2026, the Student Activities Center (SAC) was transformed into a hub of interdisciplinary discovery as the Stony Brook Graduate Magazine hosted its 2nd Annual B.R.I.D.G.E.S. Conference. While the event drew researchers from over 30 departments across campus, the Department of Civil Engineering (CIV) made a particularly strong showing, with several students presenting posters that highlight the future of resilient and sustainable infrastructure.
