Mr. Ansbach is a New York State Registered Physician Assistant, and is nationally certified by
the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants. He graduated
from the Stony Brook University Physician Assistant Program in 1985 and also received
his Masters degree in 1995 from Stony Brook University. Mr. Ansbach has been working
for the Stony Brook University Student Health Service since 1987 as a Physician Assistant.
Since 1999 he has been working in dual capacity as the Associate Director of Student
Health and also as a practicing Physician Assistant in the Medical / Dermatology Clinics.
Mr. Ansbach is the chairperson of the Student Health Service Quality Improvement Committee
and the Accreditation Committee. Mr. Ansbach also holds an academic appointment at
Stony Brook University as a Clinical Assistant Professor and actively teaches PA Students
in the SBU Physician Assistant Program.

Brief Profile:
Dr. Bergeson graduated from The University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1978. She completed
a pediatric residency at Rhode Island Hospital and a Fellowship in Adolescent Medicine
at Long Island Jewish Medical - Center / Schneider's Children's Hospital. Dr. Bergeson
has been at Stony Brook University for over 20 years. She is Board Certified by The
American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Bergeson is active in the teaching and supervision
of Medical Students, PA students, and Medicine, Family Practice and Pediatric Residents.
Some of her personal interests include: swimming, skiing, and traveling.

She has over 25 years experience as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner in Pediatrics and Family Medicine before joining Stony Brook Student Health in 2019. She enjoys precepting Nurse Practitioner students, patient education, preventative medicine and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Ms.Dybus
is a graduate of the Stony Brook University Physician Assistant Program. She is nationally
certified as a Physician Assistant in both general medicine and primary care. Ms.Dybus
received her Master's Degree in Community Health Education in 1998 from Stony Brook
University. She has been trained as a Lifestyle Counselor in both weight Management
and Stress Management. Ms.Dybus has been at Stony Brook University since 1991.
Annemarie Ng, MS, RD, CDE, CDN

Ms. Ng is a Registered Dietitian and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition
from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She obtained her Master’s degree in Health
Care Policy and Management with a Nutrition Concentration at the State University
of New York at Stony Brook and completed her dietetic internship at Stony Brook University
Hospital. Mrs. Ng currently provides nutrition counseling services at the Student
Health Center. In addition, she works with the Stony Brook dietetic internship program
and the organic rooftop garden at the Health Sciences Center. Prior to joining Stony
Brook University she worked at SUNY Suffolk County Community College as an adjunct
instructor in the Dietetic Technician Program and has over 10 years’ experience counseling
clients in her private practice. She has been a Certified Diabetes Educator for
the past 7 years. Annemarie has also worked for the North Well Health System as the
Coordinator of the dietetic internship program. In 2014 she received the New York
State Dietetic Association award for Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year. Her
areas of interests include diabetes, obesity and community health.

Dr. Palat
is a Board Certified Family Physician who started working at the Stony Brook Student
Health Service in September of 2003. Prior to that, she had been in private practice
in Family Medicine in Atlanta Ga. for more than 3 years. She enjoys working with the
student community and takes an active interest in medical student and resident education.
Her special interests include General Medical issues, Women's Health, Preventative
Medicine, and patient education.
Anthony Pesce, MD

Brief Profile:
Dr. Pesce began working part-time at student health in January of '07. Prior to that he was
full-time academic faculty in Stony Brook School of Medicine's Department of Family
Medicine. He enjoys educating student patients about their medical conditions and
concerns. Dr. Pesce also works part-time teaching at the Southside Hospital Family
Practice Residency Program, and in a busy walk-in center in Sayville.

Brief Profile:
Dr. Shah
joined the Stony Brook University Student Health Service in 2002. She enjoys working
with the diverse student population here at SBU. Dr. Shah has a special interest in
women's health care issues which include medical, social, and gynecological health
issues. Dr. Shah has served on the committee for the development of the Eating Disorder
Protocol at SBU. She is also involved in teaching medical students and residents rotating
through the Student Health Service. Dr. Shah was previously affiliated with the Family
Practice Residency Program of the University of Illinois at Chicago. She worked as
an attending physician for the program. Clinical practice involved all aspects of
medicine, with a concentration in internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and
pediatrics. Dr. Shah has been a member of committees for infection control, quality
assurance, and continuing medical education.

Dr. Tuckman
has been at the SBU Student Health Service since 1999. Prior to that, he had been
in private practice. Dr. Tuckman has broad experience in general Internal Medicine
and Gastroenterology. He finds working with the undergraduate and graduate students
at SBU very rewarding.
Jean Tully, PA-C

Ms. Tully
is a New York State Registered Physician Assistant and is nationally certified by

in 1998 with a concentration in Mathematics. Ms. Tully worked as a Physician Assistant
in Women's Health for fifteen years before joining the Student Health Service in 2009.
