EDT 531 — Innovative and Advanced Technologies in Education: Foundations
In this course, participants will learn about principles, concepts, and skills for
innovative and advanced technologies in education. Participants will explore innovative
technology tools within the curriculum and examine the research behind technology
pedagogy. Participants will investigate how emerging technologies, including artificial
intelligence, are being applied across industries, careers, and educational environments.
The culminating activity requires participants to analyze a field that relies heavily
on innovative technologies and adapt an activity for classroom implementation that
prepares students for future workforce and technology demands.
EDT 532 — Innovative and Advanced Technologies in Education: Educational Best Practices
In this course, participants will utilize innovative technology tools and apply them
within their own educational environments. Participants will adapt existing lessons
and activities to reflect innovative technology principles and practices while developing
a strong understanding of technology-enhanced pedagogy. They will explore innovative
technology tools including artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and augmented
reality and learn how to effectively integrate these technologies into teaching and
learning environments.
EDT 533 — Innovative and Advanced Technologies in Education: Curriculum Integration
In this course, participants will learn how to fully integrate innovative technology
tools and leverage best practices into curriculum design and instruction. Participants
will develop a comprehensive technology integration plan aligned to a specific learning
environment. Emphasis is placed on innovative technologies, AI-supported learning
opportunities, workforce readiness, and 21st-century skills to create cohesive technology-rich
learning experiences.
EDT 541 — Digital Wellness, AI, and the Ethics of a Connected World
This course examines the relationship between technology, artificial intelligence,
human wellbeing, and ethical practice in contemporary professional and educational
environments. Students investigate how AI-driven systems, social media, and digital
infrastructures shape behavior, organizational culture, and equity. The course culminates
in the design of a digital wellness or technology ethics initiative grounded in research
and stakeholder awareness.
EDT 544 — Inclusive Technology Integration in Education
Students learn to integrate educational technology tools and applications to support
diverse learners through inclusive and equitable instructional practices. Participants
explore assistive and adaptive technologies, including AI-supported accessibility
tools, and design professional development experiences that help educators effectively
leverage technology to support neurodiverse learners, multilingual learners, at-risk
students, and gifted students.
