Continuing & Professional Education Working Group

Academic Portfolio Task Force

Scope

The Working Group will document existing professional, continuing and life-long learning non-degree programs, identify current constraints and potential barriers to the expansion of such programs, and make recommendations concerning the creation of a centralized unit to administer such programs on behalf of the various colleges and schools. As part of this evaluation, the working group will evaluate the current technology suite and identify areas where additional infrastructure may be needed.  It will consider the personnel challenges involved in developing non-degree programs and assess the role of SPD and academic units in their delivery. In addition, this working group will collaborate with the tuition sharing revenue working group to improve incentives for program development and may investigate tuition structures allowed by SUNY. New non-degree initiatives may include programs developed by single units or involve collaborations between departments and schools/colleges.
