Gui Hwan Lee

Gui Hwan Lee, born in South Korea, is a PhD candidate in Music History & Theory at SUNY Stony Brook. He studied violin in an BA program at Kyung Hee University, and then music history & theory in an MM program at the University of Cincinnati. As a researcher specialized at 20th century- and contemporary art music, film and multimedia theories, and East-Asian pop cultures, Lee aims at a broad and inclusive scholarship that contributes to the critical understanding of contemporary art- and pop music—especially in engagement with post-colonialism and the Anthropocene.
