Graduate Student Services

The Career Center provides career coaching and support for students in MA, MS, and PhD programs who are interested in entering private industry, government, and the non-profit sector.  Graduate students are encouraged to take advantage of Career Center resources, services, job fairs, workshops, and other networking opportunities.

About Alfreda

Alfreda has dedicated her life to assisting undergraduate and graduate students in becoming career ready.  She strives to bring the latest innovations in career education to her work and has a strong passion for research and writing.

Working with Graduate Students

Dr. James is a member of the Graduate Career Consortium (GCC). She is a former member of the GCC’s executive board and past chair of the communications committee.  She also writes about career education and professional development for graduate students in InsideHigherEd’s CarpeCareers blog.  Graduate students can meet with Alfreda for resume reviews, mock interviews, and other career related conversations tailored to graduate students.
