Aliyah Blackman

Major: Psychology B.S with concentrations in Chemistry and Physics Senior

Aliyah Blackman

Aliyah Blackman is a senior majoring in Psychology with concentrations in Chemistry and Physics, and minoring in Chemistry on the Pre-Medical track. Her academic route was motivated by her dad's chronic kidney disease; she has always been driven by her father to make a change in the world by helping people along the way. Aliyah currently works at the Stony Brook Hospital Kidney Transplant Department assisting patients and has shadowed in the Stony Brook Urology Clinic. Aliyah is currently the Founder and President of the Center for Black Philanthropy at Stony Brook University. It is important for her to give voice to fellow African Americans and give those who look like her a chance to express what they want to do in the world. Aliyah is a member of the Watsi Club and Guyanese Student Alliance, and she has been a TA for General Chemistry. Her overarching goal is to help enourage those who feel they don't have a voice, and to provide them with guidance to achieve their dreams.
