VIS Advisor Caseloads

Each international student is assigned to a specific VIS advisor. This assignment is called a caseload.

Your advisor will help you with immigration questions and advise you on how to maintain your F-1 or J-1 status. Advisors also review requests such as travel signatures, employment authorization, and update your SEVIS record.

VIS assigns advisors based on the first letter of your family (last) name. Review the chart below to find your advisor and their contact information.

Please note that advisor caseloads may change at any time without notice. If you are unsure who your advisor is, contact Visa and Immigration Services for assistance.

F-1 Students

Your VIS advisor is assigned based on the first letter of your family (last) name.

J-1 Students

If you are a J-1 student, your primary advisor is Tricia Simons, International Faculty & Scholar Advisor.

Tricia serves as the main point of contact for J-1 students and can assist with questions related to maintaining J-1 status, travel, employment authorization, program extensions, and other J-1 immigration matters.

J-1 Faculty & Scholars

If you are a J-1 scholar, your primary advisor is Jessica Raphael, International Faculty & Scholar Advisor.

Jessica is the primary contact for J-1 scholars and their host departments. She assists with questions related to obtaining and maintaining J-1 status, travel, employment authorization, program extensions, and other J-1 immigration matters.

International Employees (H-1B, E-3, O-1, TN, etc.)

If you are an international employee, or a department seeking to sponsor an employee for an employment-based status such as H-1B, E-3, O-1, or TN, your primary contact is Kelly Luquer, Assistant Director.

Kelly assists international employees and their host departments with questions related to obtaining and maintaining employment-based status, travel, employment authorization, extensions, and other immigration matters.
