"Everyone is super friendly and considerate. I never feel alone here. There's always someone who would be willing to go out dining with me, or do a late night study run to the library."
When I was deciding on schools, Stony Brook being the flagship New York State school was definitely appealing, and I also wanted to go to a larger school. I know a lot of STEM universities might overlook the arts but I wanted a school where I could pursue a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Seeing the Staller Center and the steps on the tour was very attractive. I also loved the vibe in the library, and the North Reading Room was a very vibrant area. I felt like I had found the place for me.

A really big part of why I enjoy Stony Brook are the people, students and faculty. The staff and faculty are always eager to help me out. And wherever I go on campus, like in the dining halls, people say good morning and ask me how I'm doing.

It's a very positive atmosphere. Everyone is super friendly and considerate. I never feel alone here. There's always someone who would be willing to go out dining with me, or do a late night study run to the library.
