Campus Life

student centerThe 84-acre campus at Stony Brook Southampton has been an oceanfront educational institution, a marine science laboratory, an incubator for the arts and an essential part of the fabric of East End life for more than 60 years.

Students choosing to live on campus at Stony Brook Southampton will be placed in one of three Residence Halls, and the Student Life team maintains a busy schedule of events for residents and commuter students, as well as the local community.

The campus boasts the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified library on Long Island, featuring world-class collections and services.

The 15,000-square foot Marine Sciences Center has greatly expanded research capabilities, and several research vessels allow marine scientists and students to use the Atlantic Ocean as their outdoor classroom.

The campus also includes a Student Center, Chancellors Hall (including Duke Lecture Hall), the Fine Arts Building (featuring The Avram Theater and Gallery) and the gymnasium.
