Appeals Process

The Student Accessibility Support Center (SASC) works collaboratively with students and faculty to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities.  All determinations are made on a case-by-case basis as part of an interactive process.  In the event that the accommodations provided do not meet a student's expectations, students may wish to appeal.  If that is the case, students should follow the appeal process described below.

The student should contact the Student Accessibility Support Center and request an appeal meeting, as outlined in the determination decision. The student will then meet with a member of the SASC leadership team to discuss their appeal.

If after a student meets with a member of the SASC leadership team, and the decision still does not meet their expectations, the student should contact the ADA Coordinator in writing with an explanation of the basis for their appeal.  The ADA Coordinator will review the appeal and issue a written determination.  The decision of OEA will be final.
