Campus Connections
SASC takes pride in collaborating with a wide range of campus partners to strengthen services and foster meaningful connections for students with disabilities. These partnerships enhance coordinated support and promote a more inclusive campus experience.
Career Center
SASC partners with the Career Center to provide career education and support on workplace disability awareness and self-advocacy. Students can receive tailored employment preparation specific to diversity and inclusion. SASC also provides accommodations at on-campus job fairs to ensure students with disabilities have equitable access to networking and employment opportunities.
Office of Military and Veteran Student Services
Veteran students often have unique experiences and needs that benefit from a warm, individualized, and supportive approach. Our staff liaison meets weekly with veteran students to provide guidance, connection, and access to resources. SASC is proud to support and co-sponsor veteran-focused events across campus, fostering community and honoring their service.
Graduate Coaching
Graduate students registered with SASC can be provided with individualized Academic Coaching at any point during their graduate education to help them navigate the unique demands of advanced study. Coaching focuses on areas such as task and time management, goal setting and project planning, calendar organization, and effectively communicating with faculty. If you are interested in learning more about our graduate coaching program, please email us at sasc@stonybrook.edu.
Academic Success and Tutoring Center
SASC partners with Learning Specialists who help students with disabilities master the "how to" of college. From task initiation and note-taking to executive functioning and effective study strategies, they provide tools that are aimed at fostering academic independence.
Campus Residences
The Accessibility Manager serves as a liaison for housing accommodations and accessible furniture. They collaborate with Campus Residences to identify available spaces that align with approved housing referrals and assess options that best meet a student’s access needs. The Accessibility Manager also partners with Facilities to coordinate the delivery and placement of accessible furniture that supports full participation and equitable access to the learning experience.
