Workshops

OLLI at SBU offers workshops in the following formats: in person, hybrid, and virtual via Zoom.

In-Person Workshops

In-person workshops may be held at the following locations:

On Campus

• Social & Behavioral Sciences (SBS) Building
• The Wang Center
• The Student Activities Center (SAC)
• Research and Support Services (Building 17)
• The Stony Brook Union

Off Campus

• In some semesters, workshops have been held at various off-campus locations.

All in-person workshops have a capacity restriction based on room size and/or workshop leader preference. Members can request up to six workshops during Fall & Spring registration and up to three workshops during the Summer semester.

Hybrid Workshops

OLLI at SBU started offering hybrid workshops during the Fall 2022 semester. All hybrid workshops are held synchronously on the SBU campus and via Zoom. Workshop leaders who choose to participate in a hybrid format lead the workshop in person on campus and on Zoom simultaneously. Members have the option to select the in-person section or the Zoom section of a hybrid workshop during registration.

Virtual Workshops via Zoom

All OLLI virtual workshops are delivered through the Zoom video conferencing platform. Members may register for an unlimited number of Zoom workshops during the registration period.

Prior to the start of each semester, members will receive an email with the links to all Zoom workshops being offered for the semester. Members must be registered with an annual or term membership in order to receive the Zoom workshop links. Please do not share the Zoom links with anyone else in order to help preserve the security of OLLI virtual workshops.
