Become a Workshop Leader

OLLI at SBU workshops are led by members of the community who are passionate about a subject and excited to share it with fellow lifelong learners. Workshop leaders are dedicated volunteers — they bring their expertise and enthusiasm to every session, and they are the heart of the OLLI program. No formal teaching experience is required.

If you have an area of knowledge or a passion you'd like to explore with others, we'd love to hear from you.

Benefits of Leading a Workshop

Workshop leaders and co-leaders receive the following:

• An invitation to the end-of-semester celebration at no charge
• A $150 supply allowance per workshop
• Access to the OLLI at SBU Workshop Leader Handbook and Zoom Training Guide
• Eligibility to apply for funding through the Ruth Pasternack Award
• The option to invite guest speakers to present during their workshop
