Stony Brook University welcomes hundreds of visitors to campus daily! Visitor parking varies based on campus, so please see the information below.
Any driver on University grounds acknowledges the responsibility to operate and park a vehicle on campus in accordance with Stony Brook University's Parking Rules and Regulations.
Large special events (e.g., athletic events, commencement, etc.) may alter visitor parking. Any changes to visitor parking will be posted.
Visitors with a government-issued ADA placard are able to park in any ADA stall. Please note: parking in paid facilities requires payment of the applicable rate.
Retirees and emeriti should utilize visitor parking rules. If you have emeritus status, and wish to register for a permit, you may log in to the parking portal with your NetID. Your eligible parking options will be available for registration. If you have any questions, please contact Parking Services.
WEST CAMPUS
Visitors coming to the west campus have multiple parking options.
ADMINISTRATION GARAGE: The Administration Garage is a gateless facility. Individuals must pay at a pay station located on Level 1 or Level 2 of the facility after parking the vehicle and before walking away. Individuals will also need to know their license plate information for payment. The pay stations accept credit cards only. Remember: Park. Pay. Walk Away. Hourly rates apply Monday- Thursday, 7am- 11pm, and 7am- 6pm on Fridays.

VISITOR LOTS
Short-term visitor parking lots are enforced from 7am-7pm, Monday through Friday. Visitors will pay at a pay station located at the lot. Individuals will need to know their license plate information to make payment. The pay stations accept credit cards only. Parking is prohibited if the pay station is malfunctioning.
Visitor Lots 4, 7, 12, 19, 25, 26, 28
- Rate is $2.50/hour with a maximum daily rate of $17.50
Visitor Lot 5
- $5 flat rate for the day
OTHER CAMPUS LOTS
West Campus, South Campus, and Lot 40 are enforced Monday-Friday from 7am to 4pm unless otherwise signed. Outside of those hours, the lots are available for use without penalty. Please note that designated spaces (i.e., reserved, state vehicle, ADA, etc.) are enforced 24/7.
SOUTH CAMPUS
Visitor Lot 30:
- Rate is $2.50/hour with a maximum daily rate of $17.50
- The pay station accepts credit card payments only.
- Individuals will need to know their license plate information to make payment.

DAILY PARKING
Daily parking is available in the Hospital Garage, for a fee, based on an hourly rate. Payments can be made at the kiosk located outside the Hospital Garage Parking Office or at the gate.

Parking passes can also be purchased allowing visitors access to the Hospital Garage only. Passes are valid for 30 days from the date of purchase. In order to purchase a permit, please follow the below steps.
- Visit the Information Desk located in the Hospital Lobby.
- The visitor desk will provide validation in order for you to purchase.
- Bring the validation to the Parking Office, located on level 1 of the garage.
- Passes are good for the Hospital Garage only.
