University Resources

| Student Support Team (SST) | The Student Support Team is committed to supporting the emotional, physical, and intellectual wellness of all Stony Brook University students. If a student is unsure about where to get help or is facing a challenge that is impacting their academics, the Student Support Team will provide supportive consultation and refer students to other on-campus resources, as needed. |
| Student Health Services (SHS) | The Student Health Service is the on-campus source for meeting students' primary health care needs. The staff of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, health educators, laboratory technologists, and technical and administrative staff are dedicated to providing students with quality, cost-effective medical care, and the services necessary to optimize preventative health and wellness. |
| Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) | Counseling and Psychological Services offers free and confidential services to enrolled students. Services include crisis intervention, brief counseling for individuals, couples, and groups; consultation to students, faculty, staff, friends, and parents; medication management; and assistance with referrals to community resources. |
| Center for Prevention and Outreach (CPO) | The Center for Prevention and Outreach offers a wide range of programs and services aimed at educating students on health and wellness topics, empowering them to make healthy decisions. CPO focuses on prevention and early intervention, with topics including mental health and suicide prevention, alcohol and other drugs, healthy relationships, sexual violence prevention, and physical health. |
| Campus Wellness and Nutrition | Do you have food allergies or follow a specialized diet? Navigate campus dining better by finding, preparing, and eating the best you can. Or meet with Campus Dietitian Laura Martorano to develop an individualized plan for implementing wellness tactics like mindful eating, calorie-focused eating, nutrient-dense eating, superfoods, functional medicine, and more! |

Financial Aid

| #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship | Stony Brook University proudly recognizes first-year international students with a vision for enhancing intercultural understanding. Awardees will be offered an annual, renewable scholarship to cover 50% of their tuition. This scholarship is operated through International Student Enrollment as part of the #YouAreWelcomeHere campaign. |
| Student Emergency Support Fund (SESF) | The Student Emergency Support Fund provides limited grant funding to matriculated Stony Brook undergraduate and graduate students who are experiencing an unexpected financial crisis that may be impacting their ability to continue on their academic journey. The fund is in place for students who have exhausted all financial aid resources, including available loans, to assist with educational needs (excluding tuition and housing). Documentation regarding your situation may be required for review by the Emergency Support Fund Committee. |

| Healthier U | Healthier U is Stony Brook University's innovative wellness program for all employees. It's a program designed to address your total well-being — mind, body and spirit. Healthier U educates, encourages, and empowers employees to make healthy decisions and lifestyle choices, through yoga, meditation, walking, and nutrition programs. |
| Hardship Fund Program | The Hardship Fund is a program available to assist eligible faculty and staff who are experiencing a personal financial emergency due to a sudden, unexpected event such as a fire, illness, death of a family member, etc, and who have exhausted all other avenues for obtaining assistance. The Hardship Fund is a fund of last resort. |
| Employee Assistance Program (EAP) | The Employee Assistance Program is a voluntary and confidential program designed to enhance the overall well-being and productivity of faculty and staff serving Stony Brook University. The Program provides access to appropriate professional or community resources to help individuals dealing with a wide range of work and life concerns, including grief and bereavement, alcohol and substance abuse, domestic violence, and more. |

| CSEA Local 614 | CSEA is one of New York’s largest, most influential unions, uniting more than 250,000 workers who deliver vital public services across the state. The Local 614 chapter organizes and represents Stony Brook University employees. |
