Student Emergency Support Fund (SESF)

We understand as a Seawolf, you may face significant hardship during your time as a student at Stony Brook. The Student Support Team is here to listen to your story, provide support, and connect you with resources. 

The Student Emergency Support Fund provides limited grant funding to matriculated Stony Brook undergraduate and graduate students who are experiencing an unexpected financial crisis that may be impacting your ability to continue on your academic journey. 

The fund is in place for students who have exhausted all financial aid resources, including available loans, to assist with educational needs (excluding tuition and housing). 

Documentation regarding your situation may be required for review by the Emergency Support Fund Committee. 

To apply for the fund, please complete the questionnaire below. A member of our team will contact you to schedule an appointment to discuss your situation and resources that may be available to you. 

*Applications are considered once per academic year.*
