Center to Participate in Water Views Festival

The Center for Clean Water Technology will be participating in the Water Views Festival presented by The Independent. The day will include programming featuring environmental scientists, NGO’s, and community leaders tackling water conservation issues in Long Island, as well as family-friendly activations highlighting local ecoinitiatives, and celebrating the natural beauty of Long Island. The Center's Director, Dr. Christopher Gobler, will serve on the State of Our Waters Panel along with Long Island’s leading water conservation experts to discuss issues related to drinking water, fresh water bodies and the ocean. The discussion will highlight water quality challenges, and the opportunities and efforts underway to address these challenges. Afterwards, the Center will host a table at the Festival where we will explore how clean is “clean” water. Interactive displays will monitor different water sources for water quality parameters using test strips and meters to see just how clean your water really is. Center representatives will also demonstrate how we can use a nitrogen removing biofilter to purify contaminated water.
