Research Interests
Professor Gardner's research has been centered around environmental engineering and science, particularly the behavior of contaminants in aquatic environments, the release of contaminants in post-industrial byproducts and wastes, and interdisciplinary sustainability science and engineering. His work has been focused on mitigating human impact on the natural world and collaborating with various disciplines and public and private organizations to understand problems and develop effective solutions.
