Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

The Undergraduate Minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies offers students the opportunity to engage critically with gender and sexuality issues in multicultural and transnational contexts. Through courses that focus on feminist thought, queer and transgender theories, and interdisciplinary problem-based methods, the minor supports students in gaining conceptual tools to analyze and challenge gender and sexual norms. Students also explore intersections with racial and ethnic formations, political and economic structures, and dominant standards of health and ability.

1. WST 102 – Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies in the Social Sciences
  
  OR WST 103 – Women, Culture, and Difference
2. WST 291 – Introduction to Feminist Theory
  
  OR WST 301 – Histories of Feminism
3. WST 407 – Senior Research Seminar for Women’s and Gender Studies Minors

At least 6 of these credits must be at the 300-level or above.

It is strongly recommended to choose from WST 390, 391, 392, 393, 394, 395, 396, 397, 398, or 399.

Pass/No Credit (P/NC) Limit

Only one course (up to 3 credits) for the Minor may be taken under Pass/No Credit.

Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) Limit

No more than 6 credits may be taken with S/U grading.
