Helping to Celebrate our #StonyBrookStrong Heroes

April 1, 2021

Starting my tenure at the beginning of the pandemic, I couldn’t have predicted how challenging my first year as President would be. But at the same time, I couldn’t have predicted the incredible way our community members kept each other’s spirits alive, our mission intact, and our sense of responsibility and accountability strong. So many Seawolves went above and beyond to help each other stay safe during the pandemic while our essential workers responded to the emergency. So many individuals joined together in a demonstration of talent, hard work, and togetherness.

There are countless people to thank in the effort to stay #StonyBrookStrong. We are proud to share a new video recognizing more of our heroes, but in order to honor each and every one of you, we need your help.

Let us know who stood out, stood up, and made a difference in your area on the Stony Brook Strong Heroes website. Who are your #StonyBrookStrong heroes? Who are the colleagues and friends who made a difference to you during this challenging time? We want to hear about all the efforts, big and small, that helped our community persevere with strength, resilience, and heart.

Submit your #StonyBrookStrong heroes’ stories through the form on our website. All submissions will become part of an online “Hero” wall, and departments will also be able to distribute #StonyBrookStrong certificates and promotional items to recognize their employees.

Once again, I’d like to thank all of you for keeping Stony Brook safe, healthy, and inspired.
