International Student Orientation (Required): Monday, August 16, 2021 - Thursday, August 19, 2021. Students will start off their New Seawolf Welcome Week with International Student Orientation programming.
New International Student Move-In: Sunday, August 15, 2021. Move in times and details to be communicated directly by Campus Residences.
What is International Student Orientation?
Throughout the summer, international students will participate in online orientation modules (Part 1), virtual small group sessions with a Peer Assistant Leader, and the advising and registration process. Some aspects of this orientation will include specific information just for international students, while other parts will be for all new incoming students.

In addition, in August, all new incoming students must complete online orientation modules (Part 2). International Students will also attend International Student Orientation programming as part of their required programming prior to the start of the semester (mid-August).
Students can expect to begin receiving important orientation information via email in early May. It is important that students review their emails regularly and take action in a timely fashion on any tasks to help prepare for their start at Stony Brook University.
What is the schedule for International Student Orientation?
In mid-August, Students will start off their New Seawolf Welcome Week with International Student Orientation programming. International Student Orientation programming is designed to enhance the experience of our International Students as they start at SBU. At the conclusion of International Student Orientation, International Students will begin their New Seawolf Welcome Week programming alongside their domestic peers.
Student schedules will vary by first-year or transfer status. Students will receive more information in early August, regarding their required programs and schedule for International Student Orientation.
