Regina Marshall Lyons
I joined the office of Student Orientation and Family Programs in 2009. Prior to coming
to Stony Brook, I worked at Rutgers University in the areas of orientation and new
student programs. I completed my B.S. in Human Services, Education, and Public Policy
at the University of Delaware and my M.Ed. in College Student Affairs at Penn State.
I love working with new students and Orientation Leaders and look forward to seeing
you at orientation!
Assistant Director of Student Orientation & Student Leadership
I am excited to have re-joined the Office of Student Orientation and Family Programs in 2018! As a proud alumna of Stony Brook University, Class of 2013; B.A. in Sociology, coming back to SBU feels like coming home. Prior to returning to SBU, I worked at Providence College and John Carroll University in Residence Life. I earned my M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration from the University of Vermont. As a former OL, I'm honored to serve in this role, and to work with new students and Orientation Leaders as they transition into a new stage in their lives!
Coordinator of Family Programs & Services
I joined the Office of Student Orientation & Family Programs in 2019. Before starting my role as the Coordinator of Family Programs & Services, I worked as a Career Coach in the Stony Brook University Career Center. I received my M.S.W. in Social Welfare from SBU in 2013 with a specialization in Student Community Development. I completed my B.S. in Psychology at SUNY Oneonta where I first developed my love for higher education. I am excited to be working with parents and families to support their student as they transition into college!
I am very excited to join the Office of Student Orientation & Family Programs as a Graduate Assistant. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Farmingdale State College in May 2017, and I am currently a graduate student in the Higher Education Administration Master’s degree program at Stony Brook University. I was an Orientation Leader during my undergraduate studies at Farmingdale, so joining Stony Brook’s Office of Student Orientation & Family Programs was the perfect transition for me.
