Doctoral candidate Sarah Fisher Davis studies environmental humanities and contemporary
Anglophone & American literature, as well as film and graphic narratives. With graduate
certificates in Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies and Writing, she focuses specifically
on how the rhetoric and representation of gender, embodiment, and ecology relate to
one another and to geopolitical and social justice issues. Her dissertation project
is tentatively entitled, "Detection: U.S. Land, Body, and Text as Sites of Nuclearity."
Sarah earned her B.A. in History Education & English from Gardner-Webb University
and her M.A. in English from UNC Charlotte.
