Before starting at Stony Brook, Robert received his MFA in Creative Writing from The
City College of New York, where he has taught numerous creative writing and literature
courses. He has also led poetry workshops for Brooklyn Poets and has published three
collections of poetry.
His research focuses on the ontological and phenomenological questions attached to 21st century ecological discourse and the Anthropocene at large. He is interested in the fractal-like pathways and connections radiating off of the Anthropocene and the crises that have manifested this new epoch.
