NIH Open Access Policy

All Stony Brook IRACDA Scholar publications must be in compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy. The policy requires that all investigators funded by the NIH submit or have submitted for them to the National Library of Medicine's PubMed Central an electronic version of their final, peer-reviewed manuscripts upon acceptance for publication, to be made publicly available no later than 12 months after the official date of publication. This includes work that was initiated prior to the start of the IRACDA appointment but required additional work during the period covered by the IRACDA  appointment.

For step-by-step instructions on how to bring a paper into compliance, please use the "Show me specific instructions for my publication" link on the NIH Public Access homepage.

If you have any questions about the NIH Public Access Policy or need help bringing a paper, or an award, into compliance please contact the Public Access Support Center at PublicAccess@nih.gov
