PhD Clinical Psychology

A smiling man with glasses and a beard stands against a light blue background. He is wearing a gray, long-sleeved, collared shirt and has his arms crossed."

On Stony Brook:

I was privileged to graduate from SBU with a BS in Psychology back in 2015, and I'm thrilled to be graduating in 2026 with my PhD in Clinical Psychology. SBU is an incredible place, and I'm happy to share my experience.

SBU has one of the top Clinical Psychology programs in the country, and it has incredible opportunities to get involved in rigorous research and top-tier clinical training.

Plans for post-graduation:

Returning to Stony Brook as part of the SUNY PRODiG+ Fellowship program, where I will continue to develop my program of research, teach undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Psychology, and provide clinical supervision to help train the next generation of clinical scientists.

Advice for future Seawolves?

As a first-generation college student, I underestimated the value of community engagement and taking advantage of every opportunity that SBU has to offer. In other words, do what you can to get involved on campus! Go to office hours and get to know your professors. Learn more about post undergrad opportunities (e.g., getting research experience to best prepare yourself for graduate school). Make connections with your fellow Seawolves and have fun. SBU is an incredible place to be, but that’s especially true when you really immerse yourself within the community.
