Law

Ever hear the one about the law professor who walked into a creative writing workshop? Well…

Imagine you’re a lawyer. A large part of your day will be spent writing. No, you’re not writing fiction or poetry, but you do need to know how to persuade an audience. And this is what creative writing teaches you. So is a law student who majored in creative writing at a disadvantage because he, she or they didn’t choose a more traditional pre-law track? Not in the slightest. There are even courses that focus on the connection between creative writing and law! Here’s an example from one of the most prestigious law schools in the country, Stanford University.
