Employees and students who are likely to be occupationally exposed to 10% of the annual limit will be provided dosimeters to monitor cumulative radiation exposure.
As a badged radiation worker at Stony Brook University, please pay attention to how
you are wearing your radiation dosimeter. An accurate record of your radiation exposure
is dependent upon wearing your radiation dosimeter properly and exchanging them in
a timely manner. View Dosimeter Placement Reference. Chest Dosimeter (Whole Body Dosimeter): Collar Dosimeter: Fetal Dosimeter: Ring Dosimeter: How to quickly tell where you should wear your radiation dosimeter(s): Individuals are advised to review their dose reports to monitor any exposure they
may have received. You may view your own dose report at any time-by-time by logging
into the Landauer website. If you are unable to view your report online, you can request
your dose report be provided to you by Radiation Safety. Stony Brook provides employees and students who meet criteria for radiation dose monitoring
a National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) accredited dosimeter. View the order form for a dosimeter. Applicants who have previously been monitored for radiation exposure at another institution
must also complete the Radiation Exposure History form.
Points to Remember:
Simply look at the rear of the dosimeter. The wear location will be indicated beneath
the account/series number:
