Camerata Singers

Shoshana Hershkowitz, Musical Director

Camerata Singers is a chamber choir of 35 singers that performs standard choral repertoire, as well as contemporary and world music. Past conductors include Mark Orton, Timothy Mount, Jeffrey Francom, and Alice Cavanaugh. The ensemble has been under the direction of Shoshana Hershkowitz since 2014.

Audition Information
Camerata Singers
 is intended for singers with advanced vocal and music reading skills. Auditions take place the first week of classes. 

Stony Brook Choral Ensembles will be holding auditions for new members on August 23rd from 6-9pm and August 25th from 5-7pm. Sign up online here: Students should prepare any song they are comfortable singing. Students auditioning for the select Camerata Singers should be prepared to sight sing an 8 measure exercise. All students who are interested will be placed in a choral ensemble.

In the interest of safety, singers will be masked in rehearsal in addition to being vaccinated. Our goal is to make music together in person, while keeping public health paramount.
